Home Away From Home For Us

Many of you know that we hang out a lot at the ranch in Hico, and very few of our friends have had the chance to visit us there, so I thought I would show you a picture of the house. It was built in the 20's but has been remodeled many times over the years. We have done little changes since we bought it, but we did paint the doors and shutters. As a matter of fact Pat installed a screen door this weekend on the front and we could not wait to hear the "slam" of the door.

Is That My Son's Name on Her Shirt?

Posted by Picasa
I arrive at G's game Tuesday and before I could get to the stands to sit down I was told by three people that there is a girl wearing my son's name on the back of her shirt. The minute I stepped up to the bleachers I saw her. My stomach dropped for just a split second. I am thinking "I still have ownership here"! I sat down and the first thing I could think of was to get a picture so I could text it to his dad who was in Arizona. I took the first picture with my camera, but thought I can't text that to Pat. So I grab my phone and walk up to her and ask her to move her hair while I snap the back of her t-shirt. I did not even introduce myself, but one of her friends asked I was G's mother. My reply, "Well yes I am!". I walked away. I was telling G about the photo while driving home and he was okay with the picture, but he did ask me if I introduced myself. I had to apologize. I didn't. Way to go Mom.

See You At The Pole

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket “Gather. Unite. Pray. Come Together” (John 17:20-23) is the theme for See You at the Pole this year, with the event scheduled for Wednesday, September 26 at schools throughout the United States and in many other countries. In 2006, more than 2 million teenagers met for See You at the Pole in all 50 states. Internationally, reports came in from countries on six continents. See You at the Pole is a student-initiated and student-led movement that started in the Ft. Worth suburb of Burleson, Texas, in 1990. SYATP brings students to their school flagpoles to intercede for their leaders, schools, and families, asking God to bring moral and spiritual awakening to their campuses and countries. (See You at the Pole. www.syapt.com)

This event means a lot to our family. It is amazing to see elementary children and teenagers as they gather around their flag pole at school each year and hear their prayers. What can you do? Pray now for the schools in your area. Pray that the Lord will pour out his Holy Spirit upon them and many will be drawn to salvation in Christ and to raise up courageous leaders from among them who will model and call their generation to purity, prayer, and Godly lifestyles.

93, He's Our Man

93, He's our man if he can't....ok I will stop. You know the cheer-leader in me has to come out sometime! 93 is G at his first game. It was a scrimmage and the Cougars looked great. They have their first game tomorrow in Weatherford. Most of you know the red head next to G, number 15. Pax had a beautiful catch and G had a great hit. Pax is my "fourth" child who I love dearly! You should hear them in the car each day.
