Graduation was so special! Bubba started his day off with a graduation party about 4:00 p.m. with family and friends. After the party it was time for the big event which was held at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington. Bubba had 20 guests at graduation cheering him on. Each graduate gave a personal video presentation to their family. It was kleenex time and we heard the sweetest message. It is just so hard to believe how fast time has gone by. We are so proud of you, Bubba!

They Needed a Model

The photographer needed a model....yes it is Pat! Drew Industries annual report featured this photo. It surprised all of his colleagues as they did not know that he posed for this picture. Everyone got a great laugh. He looks so serious!

I forgot to mention earlier in my May 13th blog that when Pat was at home recovering from his surgery two weeks ago, he missed his company's annual meeting in Austin. This is a meeting filled with lots of golf, great camaraderie, wonderful food, and a really good time. On awards night Pat and his sales team were awarded the "Eagle" award which is given by the President of the company. It is a beautiful bronze statue of an eagle. He was so disappointed that he was not there to accept the award, but he was so proud of his team. Congratulations...I am so proud of you Pat!

A Slow Recovery

Pat is doing really good and had his staples removed today. Still walking slowly, but feeling better each day. Thank you for all of your prayers, cards, letters and phone calls. He certainly felt loved! I will have to admit that he did get a little grumpy at the end of last week, so I drove him to Hico for some more rest and relaxation in his favorite place. We introduced Cash to the cows. He looked at them and growled! What a cow dog!

Sis is finished with school until summer school starts, so she is relieved and enjoying the break. Bubba has senioritis and G is just tired of school!

Art Awards

First Place District
Honorable Mention State

Second Place District
Honorable Mention State
Unfinished Mural

Bubba has a talent we didn't know he had until he enrolled in an art class. He did really good as his first two pictures above won first and second in district and honorable mention for both in state. The mural is hanging in his school and it is almost completed. He has also made me some great glass jewelry that I love to wear.

Happenings!

Pat has to have surgery tomorrow, nothing major, but please keep him in your prayers. Thanks to our friend, Greg, from our Home Bible Fellowship as he was able to get Pat into see a surgeon quickly as he is in management at a local hospital. The surgeon called us at home last night, scheduled to see him today, and then scheduled the surgery for tomorrow, Friday. The doctor doesn't work on Fridays, so we can see that this was a "God thing" as Pat was not scheduled to see the surgeon until Monday and the pain is getting worse. Thanks Greg!

G has a basketball tournament this week. They had tests the first of the week and going on field trips the last of the week. Today they went to the Ranger game and tomorrow they hit the zoo.

Bubba got a new job at Hibbets Sporting Goods and starts tomorrow. What a perfect job for him as he is working around all of the things he loves...particularly shoes! Stop in and see him.

Cash, our new puppy, has grown so much in the past week! We really love him and he is a lot of fun. Gosh, I will be glad when the biting and chewing is over. I just had to leave my computer just now as he had a whole roll of chewed toilet paper all over the living room. We almost have the potty training down. He may not know his name yet, but he does know the word "biscuit"!

Hugs!

Come Worship Texas

Our family got to participate in the first annual Come Worship Texas Concert featuring Jeremy Camp, Mercy Me, Jeff Johnson and some screamer Christian bands called Skillet and Pillar (I needed hear plugs for these two bands). The event was held in Alvarado, Texas. Pat was security, I was in charge of the tickets, and Sis and Bubba helped me in that area. One claim to fame that we have is that my cousin, Wes, is the sound production manager for Mercy Me, so he introduced us to the band. That was cool! There were over 4,000 people attending the event. We were blessed to be a part of it.

Petals

Petals has been exciting for me. The orders have been coming in the past week and currently I am doing some work for a bank in North Richland Hills. I also have my florals for sale at a western furniture store, Cowboy Junction, in Weatherford and in Burleson. I delivered them today to Weatherford for their grand opening on Saturday. I hope they do well there as I really love designing western or I like to say the "wild side". We will see.
