Since I am chatting about Wendy, i want to add some pictures that were taken in June at Wendy and Dennis' 50 year old birthday party. We got our kids together for some great photos. I even sang karaoke with a bunch of crazy girls for the very first time at the party. We had so much fun!

California, Here They Come!
The "They" in the title doesn't include me. Nope, just Garrett and Elizabeth. Their second mom, Wendy, invited them to join them for a trip to see family, Disney Land and other attractions. Jessica, Elizabeth's betsie, is going to design school in San Diego and she needed some Jess time. Thanks Wendy for treating my kiddos! They have sent me some pictures that I will share!

Surprise Elizabeth!
Surprise Elizabeth! The picture with her dad is just priceless to me. You can see it all over Pat's face. While G was playing ball out of town last Friday, Pat took the perfect opportunity to take Elizabeth for a drive and just happen to pull into a Nissan dealership to show her a car he had been looking at. When they got out of the car and walked toward a covered garage, Pat saw the salesman and asked him if he had sold any cars today. The guys said, "Yep, I sold one. Actually the guy looked just like you!" Elizabeth said that she didn't know what to say and wasn't quite sure that the red car with the big silver bow was hers or not and even argued with her dad that it wasn't! We are so very proud of you, Elizabeth! So, here's to you Sissy Girl! You are so deserving. Red is just your color! Graduation day is August 14th and i am busy getting ready for the celebration and sending out announcements. It is going to be a great day!

Happy Friday!
I love to read. Right now I have four books checked out from the library, four I bought on Half.com (love this site as books are used and so affordable), two Bible studies and rereading a book, which leads me for the subject of this post. If you are my friend on Facebook I have mentioned several times the power of the book "One in a Million" by Priscilla Shirer has had on me. God has used Priscilla to speak directly to me through this book and currently I am on my third reading of it. I have to change pen colors each time because I am underlying the same thing each read. Since I have read most of her books, I now follow her blog. Below I have copied her post from today because again, God grabbed my attention as I was reading the computer screen. Priscilla was actually talking about one of her mentors that she too hopes to meet someday. So, I hope you hear from the Lord as you read it too.
Read her blog at Jan Johnson.
That quote above from Rohr, "Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust that there is a river. It is flowing. We are in it." just says it all, doesn't it?
Some days my faith is strong and there are many days that I have to ask God for more. He is always faithful to show me that he hears me!
Hugs!

Looking Ahead A Bit!
I found a new facelift for my blog. It has been changed four times in the past week. Most of the fun is trying to find that unique background. Blogging is calling my name again and I am going to try to give it another try consistently.
It is mid July and so hard to believe how fast time is going by. We are gearing up for August. What a big and memorable month. Elizabeth graduates on August 14th from North Texas, Matt departs for college in Waco. Garrett turns 16 too! Just a mention of a couple of other events....removal of braces for Garrett and being a member of the first sophomore and student body as a Spartan at the Centennial High School in August as well.
Before August gets here, Garrett will be playing in a lot of basketball tournaments. This weekend in Carrollton and next week in San Antonio. Also while we are in San Antonio, we will be going back and forth from San Antonio to New Braunfels for a family reunion on Pat's side of the family.
More to come soon!
